Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) continues the hypocrisy of touring Pakistan for Test series. In their latest response to the PCB, BCB CEO said,” We don’t want to stay in Pakistan for a long period due to security reasons. We have informed the PCB about our decision.”
Earlier, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said that they were ready to tour Pakistan for three-match T20I series but, they didn’t want to play Test cricket in Pakistan at present.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced to tour Pakistan as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had proposed the schedule to Bangladesh for a full-fledged series on their home soil.
After BCB’s reply, PCB CEO Wasim Khan said,” We have asked the reason from the BCB for not playing Tests in Pakistan after successfully hosting Sri Lanka in the two-match Test series as their security plan is signed off by the International Cricket Council and the sports governing body also decided to send their team officials after being satisfied with their security plan for the Test series against Sri Lanka.”
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO Nizamuddin said in response to Wasim Khan,” We will get in touch with International Cricket Council (ICC) as well, but, at present, we don’t have any plan to change stance as far as playing Test in Pakistan is concerned.”
Bangladesh is scheduled to tour Pakistan in January- February 2020 for the bilateral series consisting of two Tests and three T20Is.
BCB CEO said,” We are in constant touch with Pakistan Cricket Board, and we told them we do not want to stay there for a long time. We want to play the three scheduled T20 matches and want to play two Tests at a neutral venue.
Nizamuddin added,” The security personnel can understand the difference between staying for a short time and staying for a long time. We have taken the decision considering our security issue. You all know that representatives of our government security agencies visited Pakistan, and we have got their report in our hand.”
We Don’t Want To Send Any More Security Team To Pakistan: BCB
The BCB CEO said,” We are in constant touch with Bangladesh high commission. We are giving full important to a security issue, and our decision depends on their decision. We do not want to send any more security team, and we are in touch with the Bangladesh High Commission in their.”
He added,” You all know during an international match ICC appoints the team officials. We will try to communicate with ICC in these regards and want to take their independent opinion.”
