[su_dropcap style=”simple” size=”5″]E[/su_dropcap]ngland Cricket Board (ECB) held the auction for The Hundred League in the UK. Among 35, only Mohammad Amir, Shadab Khan and Shaheen Shah Afridi were picked by three different teams in the draft.[su_note radius=”4″]Fast bowler Mohammad Amir was the first of the Pakistani trio to be picked by London Spirit. Young leggie Shadab Khan was roped in by Southern Brave. Birmingham Phoenix was quick enough to avail the services of young fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi.[/su_note]
A total of 35 Pakistani players were included in the initial list of ‘The Hundred’.draft. The top players who went unsold in the draft included Mohammad Hafeez, Shahid Afridi, Wahab Riaz Kamran Akmal, Umar Akmal and current T20 captain of Pakistan cricket team Babar Azam.
Some big names like Lasith Malinga and Windies opener Chris Gayle also went unsold in the draft held for the first edition of The Hundred League.
Rashid Khan became the first overall pick in the draft. The young leg-spinner was roped in by Trent Rockets. Young Afghan skipper has been the top performer in the league cricket all around the world. The 21-years old has bagged 269 wickets in T20 cricket. He averages 19.93 and has a strike rate of 16.2 with the bowl in T20s.
