PSL will help Pakistan prepare for T20 World Cup: Javed Miandad

Former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad has hailed Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) decision to host the 5th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the country, saying the PSL would help Pakistan prepare for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in Australia.

Javed Miandad said, “The staging of the entire PSL in Pakistan is a dream coming true for the Pakistan cricket fraternity to witness the games at home. It is a major achievement of PCB. Our players will benefit by playing at home against foreign players.”

Javed Miandad, who has represented Pakistan in Tests and ODIs between 1975 and 1996, said the Pakistan Super League (PSL) would be a good chance for the young talent to prove their ability and skills.

India-Pakistan series will help improve relations: Javed Miandad

Javed Miandad stressed upon the revival of cricket-ties between India and Pakistan. The legendary batsman said that the restoration of international cricket between India and Pakistan would surely help the neighboring countries low down their tensions and improve the relationship.

Miandad said, “A full-fledged Pak-India bilateral series would help in improving relations between both the countries and will also benefit financially.”

He continued, “The world wants to see Pak-India playing cricket and the bilateral series. All the Asian cricket playing countries Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka should play cricket series regularly.”

“We share a common culture and many heritage values. If the Asian countries could unite for a common cause of cricket, then it would benefit all,” Miandad said.

Javed Miandad urged the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to send Bangladesh Cricket Team to Pakistan for the scheduled Test series. The former skipper said Pakistan helped Bangladesh in that time when they were struggling to get in International Cricket.
