Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has refused to grant ‘No Objection Certificates’ (NOCs) to the players for Big Bash League (BBL) season 2019-20.
Faheem Ashraf and Usman Shinwari were signed up by the Melbourne Renegades for the first eight and five games respectively. But, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has refused to issue ‘No Objection Certificates’ (NOCs) to both the youngsters.
A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official said,” Faheem Ashraf has now been asked to focus on playing domestic cricket, while Shinwari has been called up for national duty for the home series against Sri Lanka.”
The two players were set to fly out to Australia next week. The Big Bash (BBL) Franchise, Renegades have decided to replace Ashraf and Shinwari with English pacers Richard Gleeson and Harry Gurney.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has faced a lot of criticism in the past over its inconsistent policy on granting NOCs for domestic leagues and is now continuously working on a new document which will allow the players to feature in only two leagues in a season including Pakistan Super League (PSL).
