Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is looking for a selection coordinator in a bid to ease Misbah Ul Haq’s workload. Earlier, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appointed Misbah Ul Haq as the chief selector and head coach of Pakistan cricket team.
PCB Looks For Selection Coordinator
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has invited applications for the role of selection committee coordinator. Earlier Pakistan Cricket Board has given, Misbah Ul Haq, the dual role of the chief selector and head coach. Their move looks to dent their stance that Misbah could handle both available jobs.
Muhammad Yousuf along with former Pakistani experts slammed PCB’s decision saying that how could Misbah Ul Haq does justice to his head coach role without monitoring first-class cricket as he is supposed to travel with the national team to fulfill his coaching duties.
The PCB might have come across the fact about the disconnect between the chief selector and the province head coaches. Thus, they have decided to fill this gap by appointing the selection committee coordinator.
Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB’s) spokesperson told to media that they wanted the selection committee coordinator to play the role of a bridge between the six provinces coaches/selectors and chief selector.
His responsibilities will include watching first-class matches, maintain the profile of high-performers, and spot the talent. Pretty much same as the chief selectors had till now.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially advertised the job, and soon they will start collecting applications.
The minimum qualification required for this post is a Level II coaching course. According to Pakistan Cricket Board’s statement, former international cricketers or first-class cricketers will be preferred.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was hopeful that the experiment of giving the dual role to a single person would be successful, but at the moment it looks like a flop idea.
It will be interesting to know how cricketer many former cricketers are interested in this post, and what impact is this post going to make in the selection of National Cricket Team.
