September 21, 2019: Pakistan cricket board (PCB) announced the squad for Sri Lanka ODIs. The ODI series will kick start from September 27.

Pakistan Cricket Board announced 16-member squad for Sri Lanka ODIs. Fast-bowler Hasan Ali missed out due to back spasm. He will undergo rehab at the National cricket academy in Lahore.

Iftikhar Ahmed And Co. Recalled For Sri Lanka ODIs

Misbah Ul Haq, the newly appointed head coach and Chief selector, has recalled Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Nawaz, and Usman Shinwari. All of them were dropped after poor performances at international level.

This is Misbah Ul Haq first assignment as the head coach and Chief selector, and he has rested the experienced all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez. Instead, he has drafted in Mohammad Nawaz. Hasan Ali, who missed out due to back spasm has been replaced by young left-arm pacer Usman Shinwari. Iftikhar Ahmed has brought in as a replacement of now-retired Shoaib Malik, and Mohammad Rizwan has been added as a backup wicket-keeper.
Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal, who were named in 20 probables for the series, have not been considered for the ODIs, but there is still a possibility that they might get a go in the T20I series.

Babar Azam To Assist Sarfraz Ahmed in Limited-overs Cricket

Pakistan cricket board has appointed Babar Azam as team Pakistan’s vice-captain. Pakistan cricket board (PCB) chairman said that they wanted to groom Babar Azam as a future captain. And they hoped that Babar Azam would learn quickly from the current skipper.
Babar is currently leading Central Punjab in Quaid E Azam Trophy 2019-20.

Mohammad Hasnain Finds Himself in The Squad Despite Being Axed From Central-contract List

Youngster Mohammad Hasnain, who was a surprise pick for ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, has been added to the squad for Sri Lanka ODIs. He was picked in the World Cup squad but didn’t get a single game in the mega event.
Then he was not included in the 19-member central-contract list issued by Pakistan cricket board last month.
Hasnain was representing Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2019 when is No Objection Certificate (NOC) was canceled by Pakistan cricket board (PCB), and he was asked to return to the country to fulfill his national and domestic commitments.
Now, he has been added to the squad for Sri Lanka ODIs.

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka ODI series will start from September 27.
Three-match ODI series will be held in Karachi.
Pakistan cricket board (PCB) will announce squad for Sri Lanka T20Is during the ODI series.
