Pakistan U23 beat Bangladesh U23 by 77 runs in Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2019 final at Sher E Bangla Stadium to become Emerging champions of Asia.
After coming out to bat 1st, Pakistan U23 posted 301/6 in 50 overs. Wicketkeeper-batsman Rohail Nazir scored a stunning hundred. He smashed 113 off 111 balls. His knock contained 12 fours and three maximum. Imran Rafiq (62 off 88 balls), Saud Shakeel (42 off 40 balls) and Khushdil Shah (27 off 16 balls) supported him well. Amad Butt scored a brisk 7-ball 15 to take Pakistan to 301/6 in all prestigious final.
For Bangladesh U23, Sumon Khan and Hasan Mahmud picked up three and two wickets respectively. Mahedi Hasan added one scalp to his tally.
In the chase, Bangladesh U23 started with positive intent but, Pakistan U23 bowlers took control of the innings. For the hosts, Nazmul Hasan Shanto scored 46 off 53 balls. Yasir Ali (22 off 31 balls), Afif Hossain (49 off 53 balls) and Mahedi Hasan (42 off 45 balls) played handy knocks. But, all of them went in vain as they fell 77 runs short of the target.
For the visitors, speedster Mohammad Hasnain picked up three wickets. Khushdil Shah and Saif Badar picked up two wickets each. Sameen Gul, Umer Khan, and Amad Butt picked up one scalp each to restrict Bangladesh U23 to 224-all out in 44.3 overs.
