Pakistan left-arm pacer Usman Shinwari and all-rounder Faheem Ashraf are set to represent Melbourne Renegades Big Bash League (BBL) season 2019-20.
All-rounder Faheem Ashraf will be available for the first eight games of BBL season 2019-20 for Melbourne Renegades, while Shinwari has signed the deal for the first five matches.
Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi and England pacer Harry Gurney will replace the duo of Faheem Ashraf and Usman Shinwari for the rest of the season, respectively.
Usman Shinwari is returning for a second stint in Big Bash League (BBL). The left-arm-pacer picked up eight wickets in seven games for the Renegades last season, while Faheem Ashraf was the highest wicket-taker for Islamabad United in the third edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2018.
As stated by Dailytimes.com.pk Melbourne Renegades Manager, Andrew Lynch seemed excited to have Shinwari and Ashraf on board for the upcoming season. He said, “We are very pleased with the depth we will have at our disposal this season. Shinwari got a taste of the conditions last season and was impressive for us early in the tournament while Faheem Ashraf has performed well against quality opposition, so we’re excited to see what he’ll produce in Australian conditions.”
Melbourne Renegades will face Sydney Thunder in their opening game of the season on December 19 in Geelong.
